These days, learning a new language is quite normal. It not only enhances our skill set but also helps us when it comes to travelling to new places. 

Who is this person? Where is he/she from?

Today, I am going to talk about one such person, my boss Mariam. She is a Persian girl whose hometown is Iran. She studied in Italy and worked for several years in the United Kingdom. So, she’s a person who has lived in several places in her lifetime and learned all the languages finely. 

How did he/she learn Hindi?

After working for 16 years abroad, Mariam came to India to follow her passion, which is caring for animals. She is now an animal activist and has to communicate with every other higher officer in the Indian government regarding animal welfare. That’s why she eventually learned Hindi to convey her messages to everyone. 

Why can he/she speak Hindi well?

She’s now quite fluent in Hindi because she communicates extensively with government officers and other people regarding her animal activist work.

Introduction

Language is a tool that links individuals across geographical barriers and cultural differences. It is always exciting to meet people who, despite being foreigners, have mastered a language other than their own.

Who is this person? Where is he/she from?

I am going to talk about Uncle, my father’s elder brother. He is a chef and lives in Amsterdam, Netherlands. He always comes to our house once a year when he comes to India. Earlier, when I was a beginner in speaking English, I had problems communicating with him. 

How did he/she learn Hindi?

He lived and worked in several countries, even in India. That’s why he knows English and several other languages pretty well. There was a time when he worked in India’s Khana Khazana show on DD National TV channel. So, he eventually learned Hindi while working over there. 

Why can he/she speak Hindi well?

His roots are Indian, and his entire family occasionally speaks Hindi, so he can speak Hindi very well. 

Conclusion

Overall, he is a good knower of many languages, including Hindi, and he’s a good communicator.

Introduction

Learning and understanding different languages apart from one’s native language is a crucial skill set in the present culturally diverse world. I have always admired multilingual people who can speak my native language, Hindi, accurately and fluently. 

Who is this person? Where is he/she from?

My maternal aunt Neeru Sharma is a teacher in Norway. She is very close to my family and my mother. She used to speak English for most of her life in Norway, so it was pretty challenging for her when she relocated to India. 

How did he/she learn Hindi?

Coming to India itself was a task for her, and she also chose to work here as a teacher. But she’s a fast learner, so she learnt Hindi from my mother and grandpa. 

Why can he/she speak Hindi well?

There’s also a special reason why she is learning Hindi so fluently. She is married to my father’s brother; her in-laws are all Indians. So, she willingly learned Hindi quite well.

Finally, she’s settled in India now and can communicate well with everyone in Hindi.

Question 4. Do you think how people learn English today is the same as in the past?

Answer: Of course, no. There’s a vast difference in learning methods today. In previous times, people had limited sources to learn English, such as newspapers, books, or communicating with someone who also speaks English. But these days, there are several other sources, along with the previous sources, like YouTube, TV, Videos, Reels, English Songs and Movies and much more.

Question 5. What are the advantages of the Internet with regard to people's learning?

Answer: The Internet has a vital impact on learning for both children and adults. With the internet, you can now learn a variety of new skills and take certification or degree courses from the comfort of your own home.
