As a history buff and lifelong learner, I always look for fresh approaches to researching and learning about the past. I have a curiosity about learning more about a particular historical period. By delving into the past, I hope to gain a deeper understanding of the world and the events that have shaped it.

 

What period do you want to know about?

I'd like to know more about the history of the Age of Exploration. This era, which spanned the 15th and 17th centuries, was characterised by numerous expeditions led by European explorers. New commercial routes and geographical areas were discovered as a result of these excursions. During this time, Europeans made connections with a wide range of cultures and civilisations, and the Age of Exploration had a significant impact on global affairs. 

 

Why do you want to know about it?

I'd like to learn more about the Age of Exploration for a number of reasons. First of all, I find these explorers' stories fascinating, and I am inspired by the courage and commitment they demonstrated on their voyages. I'm also interested in the cultural exchanges that occurred during this time and how they impacted modern culture. Lastly, I'm curious about the technological advancements made during this time and how they made it possible for explorers to travel to new and far-off places. 

 

How do you think you can know about it?

There are numerous avenues for me to learn more about the Age of Exploration. Reading historical books and articles is one approach. In order to comprehend historical events and personalities better, I can also go to museums and historical sites. Moreover, to have a better understanding of the occasions and people involved in the Age of Exploration, I might also watch documentaries and motion pictures.

 

Conclusion

In world history, the Age of Exploration was crucial, and I'm eager to learn more about it. Reading books and articles, going to historical sites and museums, and watching documentaries and films will all help me understand this era and the people and events that shaped it. I will be better able to comprehend the past and how it shaped the society we live in now, thanks to this knowledge.

Introduction 

Without a question, a person's past contributes significantly to their identity.

 

What period do you want to know about?

This is where I wish to share my knowledge of the Sikh empire, a significant historical era about which I would like to learn more. It began in 1801, and it continued until 1839. I can clearly recall how, about a year ago, the song Lahore was released. Towards the end of the song, emphasis was placed on the kingdom of Sher-e-Punjab, or "Maharaja Ranjit Singh ji." This piqued my interest in this period of time. 

I thus questioned my grandfather about that time period, and he informed me that Maharaja Ranjit Singh founded this empire, which is known as Sarkar-i-Khalsa. Furthermore, he stated that it is the classic illustration of a successful and secular society because, due to people's sufficient financial means and happy lives, no one was executed or involved in anti-social behaviour during that time.

 

Why do you want to know about it?

Furthermore, I learned that individuals from both India and Europe were assigned to different titles within that empire based on their merit. I was shocked to learn these fascinating facts and became curious to learn more about that era. I know as much about that time period as a drop in the ocean, but I'm willing to risk everything for it.

 

How do you think you can know about it?

Despite searching on the internet these days to know more about this era, I was unable to find any substantial information. Thus, my best friend, a bibliophile, has recommended a few good novels for me to read. I'm going to read them right now in order to increase my understanding of that era of prosperity. 

 

Conclusion

All in all, reading about the Sikh Empire has always fascinated me and expanded my knowledge of different historical periods.

Introduction 

There is no disputing the belief that we have historical evidence of diverse human behaviour and psychological patterns. This is why I want to thoroughly research a historical era. 

 

What period do you want to know about?

My goal is to gain more knowledge regarding the era when Thomas Edison created the light bulb. 

 

Why do you want to know about it?

Thomas Edison's efforts resulted in a paradigm shift in people's lives, which is why I want to learn a lot about it. Before he created them, people relied on oil lamps and candles, which were hazardous to use and frequently dull.

People's perspectives on work were altered by the development of the lightbulb since, in the past, they had thought that the days were for work and the nights were for rest. However, they hypothesised that they could work at any moment after discovering the bulb.

With the development of the light bulb, production increased globally, and the world became a safer place. 

Thomas Edison had to conduct more than 10,000 experiments before he could successfully patent the lightbulb. I also want to create something useful for the public, but a little setback makes me give up and stop trying. I will learn what drove Thomas Edison to continue his experiments in spite of his recurrent failures by learning more about that era. 

 

How do you think you can know about it?

In order to learn as much as possible about it, I need to research the ancient newspapers and publications where the reporters published the entire Thomas Edison interview. From those bits of information, I'll be able to infer what was going through his head as he conducted the studies. 

 

Conclusion

The knowledge of this allowed me to understand the past and how it affected the world we live in today.

Question: Do you think children nowadays learn too much about history? 

Answer: The implementation of experiential learning strategies and curriculum updates has resulted in a notable rise in children’s interest in the topic. The topic has also become more interesting and fun by including activities like museum tours, interactive projects, and historical reenactments. 

 

Question: Many children tend to get bored with history because of all these dates, time and names to remember, do you agree with that? 

Answer: It's probable that some kids won't find dates and name memorisation to be interesting or engaging when it comes to standard history lessons. But there are also many other approaches, like interactive activities, field excursions, and technology, to make history more engaging and participatory for kids. 

 

Question: Some people tend to go against the idea of learning from past experiences, what about you? 

Answer: Well, everyone has a unique perspective on the world. I think that one may learn a lot about life from the past. You attempt to learn from the past and not make the same mistakes that were made in the past. Many politicians have learned from the past to deal with difficult situations. 

 

Question: Do you think it is important to know about history? OR What can we learn from history? 

Answer: Yes, having a solid understanding of history is essential. History provides insight into the past. It gives us a lot of lessons. Every object has a past. Only because we were aware that we had formerly been slaves do we now cherish our freedom. We can also learn from history to avoid making the same mistakes twice. History teaches us about the advancements we have accomplished. 

 

Question: How can people get reliable historical information? 

Answer: Many resources are accessible for reference, including scholarly publications and theses, visits to archives and national libraries, documentaries and motion pictures, and participation in historical societies founded specifically with the intention of preserving history. Therefore, one can easily get reliable historical information through these sources. 

 

Question: How do you think famous historical figures can serve as models for young people today? 

Answer: Well-known historical characters can act as influential role models for today's youth in a variety of ways. First of all, their tales of bravery, tenacity, and resilience can encourage young people to overcome obstacles and follow their dreams. Through studying the accomplishments and challenges of historical personalities, youth can acquire significant knowledge and find inspiration to surmount challenges in their own life. Second, young people can draw guidance from the virtues that historical figures frequently embodied, such as compassion, leadership, and honesty. Young people can gain insight into the significance of moral decision-making, empathy, and societal responsibility by studying the lives of these influential persons. 

 

Question: Do people in your country like to visit museums? 

Answer: In my country, the majority of people enjoy visiting museums, with the exception of kids and teens. The main cause of this is the rich cultural history of my nation. Many people go to museums to learn more about the sacrifices made by their ancestors. Furthermore, museums have seen a paradigm shift in the modern era, and in an effort to increase visitor traffic, management has added new features like light and sound displays and exhibits in order to attract people. 

 

Question: Who do you think likes to go to museums more – children or adults? 

Answer: They both enjoy going to museums. History and historical artefacts captivate them. Youngsters are more drawn to vintage clothing, art, clay pots, and weapons. While adults can be attracted by the facts. 

 

Question: Do you think museums should be free of cost to enter? 

Answer: I have a different opinion on this. Accessible museum entry will have unfavourable effects. Museum operations, employee salaries, and maintenance are funded in part by contributions and proceeds from ticket sales. Free admission will make museums more financially unstable. However, we can reduce the ticket price as much as possible. 

 

Question: Do you think local people and tourists should pay the same amount to enter a museum? 

Answer: Yes, the entry fee to the museum should be the same for both locals and visitors. It would be unjust to charge tourists extra. Some believe that since locals already pay taxes to support museum maintenance, it would be acceptable to charge visitors a higher fee. However, I believe that there is no need to charge tourists extra for visiting museums or other historical places because they are contributing to the economy in many other ways. 

 

Question: How do you think the museums of the future might be different from the museums of today? 

Answer: Nobody can predict what the future will bring, but I can tell that the future museums will be more interactive and engaging. Periodically, new items would be added to them. There would be things to keep the kids and other people entertained. The use of audiovisual aids would increase. 

 

Question: How do you think the museums of the future might portray the 21st century? 

Answer: The current century will be shown by the museum as the most inventive, as it has withstood a pandemic and a slew of innovations that have altered humankind's way of life. All of the modern technologies will be available to them.
