Describe a Piece of Good News - Sample Answer 1

I try to find joyful news everywhere I go since it makes the people I care about happy. That's how I pursue happiness. While many of the news items are worthy, there is one I would like to mention here.

What was it?

This news was about one of my closest cousins who received a study visa for an MBA in one of the most prominent universities in the USA, Harvard Business School.

When did you receive this news? / How did you receive this news?

Last month, I received a call from my cousin brother telling me that, after overcoming numerous challenges, he had obtained a visa to study of USA.

Why do you feel it was good news?

For a variety of reasons, it was fantastic news for my family and myself. First, my brother's desire came true. He wanted to study in USA for a long time, and he had tried everything to make his dream come true, from soups to nuts.

Second, my uncle had been concerned about my brother's continued schooling because his business had not been doing well in recent years. Nonetheless, my uncle was ecstatic to hear about the study visa for the USA. My brother may study in USA and work 20 hours a week, according to the rules. It would assist him in paying for his schooling.

Furthermore, the fact that I myself have plans to visit the USA is another cause to be joyous. In the following three years, my brother will be granted permanent residence in USA in accordance with current regulations. It will be quite simple for me to study in Canada after he is admitted as a permanent resident.

It was an amazing moment for our family, and we celebrated his achievement all together.

Describe a Piece of Good News - Sample Answer 2

Every one of us must have heard and been part of some good news at least once in our life that we will always remember. Here, I want to discuss the best news I've ever received—something that brightened my day and that I can still clearly recall.

What was it?

This was about my best friend, Poojan, who scored AIR in her CA intermediate exams, which is considered one of the most difficult exams in India, that too in the first attempt.

When did you receive this news? / How did you receive this news?

I got this news from her only. After watching the results, she immediately texted me and shared her achievement.

Why do you feel it was good news?

I feel this was one of the best news that I have ever got in my life. Poojan is one of my closest friends, and I have seen her working very hard to clear this exam. She had sacrificed a lot just to concentrate on her studies. So, as soon as we got to this news, I felt like her hard work and dedication had paid off.

I appreciated my friend a lot for her big achievement and shared the news with everybody. Indeed, it was one of the most joyous moments of my life that I’ll never forget.

Describe a Piece of Good News - Sample Answer 3

Thank you for giving this wonderful cue card topic. Today, I will discuss the wonderful news that I heard about my mother from my cousin, which also makes me and my mother very proud.

What was it?

I guess this must have occurred during the pandemic. My mother had created a tiny terrace garden with a few fruits, veggies, and greenery.  The good news is that my mother raised a large quantity of fruits, vegetables, and greens in that little terrace garden.

When did you receive this news?/ How did you receive this news?

I was doing work from home during lockdown. One day, my cousin and I had a video call in which she gave me this news. In between her ramblings on the subject, we talked about unrelated topics, and she started speaking about this incident.

While there were no open marketplaces or stores, it was still the height of the quarantine period. My mother decided to share the fruits and vegetables with our relatives who live near to our house.

Why do you feel it was good news?

It's fantastic news, in my opinion, since during the pandemic some people were unable to purchase food at all. My mother helped those in need by giving away free vegetables and greens from our garden.

My mother did this, and I believe it's fantastic how she helped others selflessly during the pandemic by giving free greens and vegetables.
