Introduction

Giving a speech can be quite challenging for people who fear speaking in front of a huge crowd or are not confident in their language skills. Likewise, today, I will discuss an incident in which I described an incident when I delivered a speech.

When and to whom did you give the speech?

I remember giving a speech to the entire school in 7th standard. 

What was the speech about?

I gave a speech on Independence Day, addressing the freedom fighters, the struggle India as a nation has gone through and much more. The highlight of this speech was that I gave it in Hindi without fumbling and with precision while addressing the entire school. 

Why did you give the speech?

In my school, on Independence Day, Republic Day, or other important occasions, three children used to be selected to present a speech. I was selected amongst the three children because of my oration skills. 

How did you feel about it?

I was ecstatic after delivering the speech in front of such a big crowd without any major difficulty. As a kid, I was very weak in Hindi and always struggled with it. Therefore, it was a huge deal for me to deliver the speech accurately and clearly. After the speech, I felt a sense of achievement, and the cherry on top of it was when my teachers also appreciated me for the speech. 

Conclusion

To sum up, even though giving that speech was difficult for me, the result was favourable for me, and I appreciated my speech.

Introduction

When one addresses a small group of people, it becomes easier for the speaker to interact with everyone present in the room. However, some find addressing both small and large groups of people to be extremely difficult. Today, I will discuss a relevant incident. 

When and to whom did you give the speech?

I gave this speech to a panel of judges while presenting a research paper for a competition in my third year of college. 

What was the speech about?

The speech was about why mediation, a form of settlement in the procedure of law, should be legalised and have a proper framework. 

Why did you give the speech?

I gave that speech because I was presenting a research paper that I worked on to a panel of judges. The speech was mainly part of the competitions I participated in. 

How did you feel about it?

After giving the speech, I was relieved and happy with the way I presented the paper. I have always wanted to discuss the chosen topic and convey my views and knowledge.

Conclusion

To conclude, I would say that I was quite confident about this particular speech because I was thoroughly familiar with the topic and its details. This also gave me a boost to present my research paper with confidence.

Introduction

When thinking of speeches, one either thinks of people addressing a group for work, like politicians, or for competitions that students get involved in during their school or college years. But today, I will discuss a speech I gave for fun and had nothing to do with work or competition. 

When and to whom did you give the speech?

The speech I am talking about today is the one I gave at my friend’s wedding.  

What was the speech about?

The speech was about how I became friends with the one who was getting married and to tell all about the experience and journey we have been through together. 

Why did you give the speech?

I gave that speech because I was excited that one of my best friends was getting married and wanted to tell everyone, especially her groom, what a wonderful person she is. 

How did you feel about it?

I was quite emotional while delivering that speech. Even though I was giving it in front of her family, who had seen her throughout their lives, I, as a friend, had seen things that were unknown to her family. All in all, the experience of giving this speech was quite emotional and exhilarating at the same time.

Conclusion

To sum up, this speech I gave at my friend’s wedding was very different from all the other speeches I gave because of the emotional element associated with it.

Answer- A competent speaker must possess various traits, such as holding the audience's attention, engaging them in conversation, and demonstrating in-depth subject matter expertise.

Question- How can people improve their public speaking skills?

Answer- The secret to being a better public speaker is practice. Consistent practice helps people become more confident and improve their public speaking skills. Further, joining public speaking organisations or asking peers for criticism might offer insightful opinions and growth-oriented opportunities.
