Introduction

With the advancements in technology, people have shifted to computers, be it laptops or PC systems. They have become an integral part of our lives. Today, I will share my experience of facing an issue while using a computer.

What was the problem?

The problem was that I changed my laptop from Windows to Mac and needed help smoothly using my new laptop as both have different operating systems and functionality.

How did you fix it?

I fixed this problem by calling a friend who was adept at using a MacBook. She told me how to be well-versed in the Mac’s operating system and helped me learn the ins and outs and shortcuts.

When did it happen?

It happened when I was in college. I had heard many good things about the MacBook and knew it was efficient for students.

How did you feel?

After I understood how to operate the Mac, it was very easy to use. Later, I understood there are certain features in Mac that a Windows laptop does not have, which are beneficial for students.

Conclusion

To conclude, I would say that switching to a new laptop was a bit problematic, but eventually, it turned out to be a good decision for me.

Describe a time when you had a problem with using the computer cue card- sample answer 2

Introduction

Technology has become an integral part of our modern lives. Amongst all the technologies, computers and laptops have also become essential for all people. Today, I will share an incident where I faced certain issues with my computer.

What was the problem?

The problem was related to the windows on my laptop. It was an old laptop, and because of that, it did not support the latest version of Windows, which led to the laptop not supporting certain apps and websites. Due to this issue, I could not access certain apps necessary to complete a certain task.

How did you fix it?

I fixed the issue by updating the Windows to the latest version that my laptop supported by applying some tricks suggested by a friend.

When did it happen?

It happened when I was in college and was indulged in completing an urgent task. When I opened the app, I saw that my file format was unsupported, which delayed my task.

How did you feel?

I felt frustrated when this happened as I was in the middle of something important with a deadline. More than my laptop, I was concerned about my submission deadline. So, I went to my professor, explained the issue to him, and asked for some grace time.

Conclusion

Having a computer issue can be really frustrating, and I faced this with mine. Ultimately, I had to update the Windows on my laptop to support all the files and apps, which permanently solved my issues.

IELTS Speaking Part 3- Follow-up questions

Question- Why do individuals utilise computers?

Answer- Most people use computers on a daily basis these days. They use computers for work, playing games and watching movies. Moreover, individuals worldwide use computers as their personal workplace. Computers allow us to save images, view movies and learn online.

Question- Should students be permitted to use computers in class?

Answer- Since kids use computers to do their homework and learn more, it is necessary to allow them to use computers in the classroom. They can also expand their technological knowledge through computers in class and better understand a topic by accessing several resources. However, it is equally important to monitor their activities when allowing the use of computers in class to ensure they use them only for academic purposes and learning. Overall, children should be permitted to use computers to promote better learning.

Question- What do you think of those who are addicted to computers?

Answer- The majority of people believe that computer addiction is really harmful. However, my opinions differ. If you want to succeed in anything in life, you must have both enthusiasm and a certain level of addiction. We use computers to assist us in our work at the moment. As the circumstances have changed after COVID-19, we have become addicted to being confined to our houses, therefore, we use computers to amuse ourselves and keep in touch with our loved ones. However, we also need to exercise outside and stand up every half an hour to give our eyes a break and move our bodies.

Question- Do you believe that computers make life easier or harder?

Answer- Although computers simplify life, they have complicated our lives because we now have several duties to complete quickly. Imagine a time when the only way we could convey news was to write letters to everyone, post them, and then wait patiently for a week or longer to hear back. However, now that we only have to type it, hit a button, and share it with everyone, they have made our everyday lives easier rather than worse.

Question- What benefits do computers bring to academics?

Answer- Computers improve academic performance in several ways, such as making learning more enjoyable and increasing students’ understanding through access to ample learning resources. They may also be used for coding, developing programs and advancing technological knowledge.
