Overview

Not too long ago, I saw an advertisement that disturbed me. This promo ran during a commercial break of a popular prime-time television show I was watching a few weeks ago. A weight loss drug that promised incredible effects in a short period was being advertised. 

 

Where and when you saw it?

I first saw this advertisement on TV a few weeks ago, and it was heavily promoted on several websites and other media platforms. The pushy marketing tactic that forced the advertisement to appear regularly while I was online only made me hate it more.

 

What type of advertisement was for? 

The advertisement's opening image depicts an angry person struggling to squeeze into jeans and struggling with their body image. Then, the weight loss pill was released, promising consumers that they could drop a significant amount of weight in weeks without altering their diet or exercise regimen. The marketing included images of the product's purported users before and after they achieved remarkable outcomes.

 

And explain why you didn’t like the advertisement? 

I didn’t like the advertisement because the lack of research or scientific evidence to support the advertisement's claims raised questions about its validity. The advertisement contained no proven information; it looked more like a scam than a trustworthy method for losing weight.  

Apart from this, the advertisement appeared to feed negative ideas about one's body and take advantage of insecurities. The advertisement capitalised on viewers' feelings who might be dealing with similar problems by showing an unhappy person struggling with their weight. This deceptive method is damaging and could exacerbate problems with body image, which could result in an unhealthy connection with food and weight. 

 

Conclusion 

In conclusion, there were a number of reasons why the promotion of diet pills was problematic. The ad's implausible assertions, deceptive emotional appeal, and lack of credibility made me strongly disagree with it and unable to support it.

Overview

Watching ads is something I truly enjoy doing because some of them are so artistic and appealing. But there's one commercial that I find offensive.

 

Where and when you saw it? 

I was in my living room watching TV when I came across this advertisement. I saw it a month ago.

 

What type of advertisement was for? 

The advertisement promoted a private company's financial investment strategy. It presented itself as a foolproof method of securing one's financial future and promised guaranteed high investment returns. 

 

What you could see in the advertisement? 

The advertisement featured testimonials from people who said they had multiplied their fortune with this investment program in a very short amount of time. The images showed opulent getaways, expensive automobiles, and dream homes, all suggesting that investing in their plan would enable one to achieve these results.

 

And explain why you didn’t like the advertisement? 

This advertisement's exaggerated claims and inclination to trick people made me very alert about it. Investments that yield high returns while guaranteeing success are uncommon and frequently entail a high level of risk. There was no information in the marketing on the possible hazards or the tiny print that could have an impact on returns. It took advantage of people's needs for wealth and financial security by providing what appeared to be a simple fix. This advertisement took advantage of people's weaknesses and lacked the essential honesty regarding the potential drawbacks, which is why I didn't like it. 

 

Conclusion 

Overall, people need to be very careful when getting attracted to such advertisements.

Answer: Both audio and video are used in TV advertisements. Thus, these serve as visual cues about the products, which is how they are sold. Online advertisements are voluntary, and users are free to choose whether or not to watch them.

Question: Is music useful in advertising?

Answer: Yes, listening to music while watching ads is useful. Due to the importance of music in our lives, many businesses play classical music in the background to draw clients' attention. Generally, people could recall that specific song, and then they could recall the commercial.

Question: Are there some inappropriate adverts, like that of a condom?

Answer: There are some offensive advertisements, such as those for perfumes that suggest girls will swarm around a boy who wears them, and those for sodas like Pepsi and Coca-Cola. I don't think the condom advertisement is improper. It's a crucial phase in the education of sexuality.

Question: Why does the government allow such ads?

Answer: The government permits this kind of advertising because it helps stimulate the economy. The people who work for the government also make a good living from these advertisements. In addition, people also get social messages and important information through these ads. 

Question: Do people usually buy stuff after watching advertisements?

Answer: Since intense competition has become a necessary element of life in the current period, most people require more free time to relax. Commercials are helpful in this situation because they inform people about new things, which gives them strength. As a result, the proportion of consumers who make purchases after viewing commercials is rising significantly.

Question: Are there any advertisements at school?

Answer: Indeed, commercials are now a necessary component of education. Publication houses, fast food chains, and sporting goods manufacturers, in particular, do everything in their power to promote their items in educational institutions to increase sales.

Question: Why do some people hate advertisements?

Answer: There are numerous reasons why people hate ads. First, it's possible that the commercial has nothing to do with their interests. So, people dislike advertising when it sometimes appears between crucial moments, such as when watching a movie. Second, when the advertisement has some negative social impact, then also people hate it. Apart from this, people may also feel a lack of creativity or complete information in the advertisements, which causes them to hate them.
