When did you move?

I moved to Delhi in my 9th standard at the age of 13-14.

Why did you move?

I moved to Delhi because my father had a transferable job and a great opportunity in the city.

How did you feel about it?

Initially, I was very bitter about moving to a new city, a new neighbourhood and, most importantly, a new school because I had to leave all my friends behind. I belong to a tier-two city, and then moving to a city like Delhi was a big change for me. Everyone was different, and it took me a lot of time to adjust to the new surroundings, but once I got comfortable, I made many friends and enjoyed my time in Delhi.

Introduction

As I grew older, I understood it was important to move from one place as various opportunities needed to be grabbed. Nowadays, moving to a new place is common for students, working professionals, and other people to make a better future for themselves.

When did you move?

Right after my 12th standard, I moved to a new place, Indore, Madhya Pradesh.

Why did you move?

I moved to Indore because I wanted to pursue my higher education, and the best opportunity I got was at a college there.

How did you feel about it?

Moving to a new place without your parents is an emotionally challenging task, especially for a person who loves their home a little too much. Eventually, things went well at the new place because I made friends, and everyone was away from their family. It taught me a lot about different human behaviours, things, cultures and beliefs that people have. Eventually, all my friends became my second family there.

Conclusion

To sum up, moving to a new place without knowing its whereabouts was discomforting, but with time, I understood the ropes, and everything worked out just fine.

I moved very recently, in the year 2022, right after the lockdown situation ended and things started returning to normal.

Why did you move?

I moved because I had a job opportunity that I had been preparing for a year. Finally, I cleared the exam and got it.

IELTS Speaking Part 3- Follow-up questions

Question- Why do people move to a new home?

Answer- People often relocate when they are dissatisfied or forced to or for employment or studies, they relocate. In the end, they long for the former neighbourhood. Some folks, on the other hand, like changing homes every few years. They only have so much luggage to haul around and so much stuff to pack. They lead a nearly nomadic lifestyle. I personally like living the life of a nomad, where every day is an adventure full of unexpected turns and perils.

Question- What problems do people face after moving to a new place?

Answer- One of the biggest challenges people face when they relocate is odd stares from onlookers. They must adjust to the new individuals and their customs. Finding food shops, newspapers, petrol stations, and other necessities comes next. They also have to deal with safety and security issues; being in a foreign place might make them feel uneasy. They must establish a strong relationship with the community to overcome this.

Question-  What are the advantages and disadvantages of living in the same place?

Answer- The main advantage of residing in one's own home is security. Living in the same location might make you feel comfortable and protected. After that, you are fully informed about the location, including which stores provide high-quality merchandise and which ones have the best deals. Then, they know the quickest ways to enter and exit the location. Additionally, there are drawbacks. First of all, these individuals were deprived of the chance to learn about the cuisine and cultures of other people. They start to resist making changes. Resolving offers a range of experiences, even though there are more benefits.

Question-  Is it good to move to a new place frequently? Why?

Answer- Yes, if you're a travel enthusiast. Often, moving to different places helps me become more adaptable and innovative. I'll budget my money before relocating, make sure I pay my bills on time and purchase any required carry-along electronics. I will apply for and prepare them before travelling, as banks provide a variety of travel-related alternatives, including loans, insurance, and other products. In order to embrace nature and civilisation as a whole, I also advise others to relocate temporarily.

Question- What is the biggest challenge when moving to a new place?

Answer- Moving to a new place might be a subjective problem. The hardest thing for me to do is become used to the new environment's culture. Individuals who relocate abroad frequently lament the culture shock they experience. It might be difficult to comprehend and get used to unfamiliar faces.
