IELTS TRF and ATRF: What's the Difference?

IELTS TRF: Meaning

A copy of an IELTS result is called a Test Report Form, or TRF. IELTS TRFs are only given to candidates once and are valid for two years. Unless you apply to the United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA) or Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC), you will receive one copy of your TRF, otherwise, you may obtain two copies. You must give UKBA and CIC proof of application to obtain these two copies.

The institution or institutions you choose on your IELTS application form will get up to five copies of your ATRF by mail. Regular shipping is free. However, additional fees can be passed on to you for courier services and/or international postage.

Essentials of IELTS TRF

The IELTS TRF document contains specific information about the candidate and their score, which helps the validating authority confirm the TRF's online legitimacy.

The IELTS TRF includes the following crucial information:

• The candidate's entire name, birthdate, gender, country, and picture are considered basic details.

Use of IELTS TRF

ATRF IELTS: Meaning

ATRF stands for Additional Test Report Form. Beyond the first five TRFs, you can ask your test centre, which provides the findings for more TRFs. Please be aware that there can be an administration cost for extra TRFs, and if you lose your TRF, you’ll have to contact your test centre.

Original TRF documents are not required if you have applied to be any foreign professional or enrolled in any educational institution, as they have immediate internet access to your scores. Uses of ATRF IELTS

There are a few circumstances where the ATRF IELTS can be useful, those are-

• Applying to more institutions with ATRF for IELTS can increase your chances of admission to the most esteemed colleges. 

• Reprint requests are available at a nominal fee of Rs. 250, which is far less expensive than retaking the IELTS exam.

• Similar to TRFs, ATRFs formally acknowledge test results that are indicative of the IELTS exam. 

• The application process for the extra TRF follows the same steps as for the TRF. The only difference is that you have to pay a processing charge of Rs. 250 and adhere to a payment method, which is to make the payment via a credit or debit card.

Once you submit your TRF, the interested institution or firm can validate it online. The test authorities institute this verification procedure to confirm the accuracy of the candidate's submitted score. 

It is important to remember that your score may only be checked and verified through the verification procedure by authorised organisations. All you have to do is input the TRF number, and your results will be downloaded instantly.
