The IELTS exam has various components that must be aced to secure a good band score. Amongst all these sections, students mostly find the speaking section to be the most tricky and tiresome. This is because they have to interact with the examiner and answer accordingly.
The speaking section is mostly 10-15 minutes long, wherein initially, the examiner gets the students comfortable, interacts with them, and builds a rapport. Then, the student gets their topic and a minute to prepare for it as they are required to speak for 2 minutes. Lastly, the examiner asks certain follow-up questions regarding the topic on which the student has spoken.
That is why, for your ease, we have curated a few sample answers and follow-up questions that can be used to form your answers on the topic ‘Talk about a thing you complained about something (but finally got a good result).’
Every now and then, we face issues that make us crib and complain. Usually, in situations like this, we first crib and then think of the best possible solution. I was in such a situation, which I will be discussing today.
I complained about a purchase I made online. I purchased a lehnga in haste because I had to wear it to my brother’s wedding. However, the picture of the product was different from what I received, and it was not at all satisfactory. I was extremely disappointed.
I complained about the product to my best friend. She was the one who helped me select the lehenga.
It happened at the end of the week of May, and the wedding was in June.
The result was that I had to manage with some other outfit for the time being and made amends in the lehnga I received.
After amendments and suggested changes, I received the lehenga and was satisfied with the result. Even though I had to manage many things, I could wear that particular lehenga at the wedding.
To conclude, complaining about the situation did me no good, but cribbing was necessary as I was dealing with a lot then, and eventually, things fell into place.

Sometimes, people complain just because they lack understanding or might be misunderstood. This can happen between any two people. I was in a similar situation, which I will be discussing today.
I was complaining about a friend to another friend regarding how unavailable she was to me when I needed her and wanted to discuss something important with her.
I was complaining to another one of my friends about the issue because I wanted to vent to someone.
It happened when I was at a crossroads about a decision I had to make during college.
The result was that both of us were in a cold war after that incident, and then when we started talking, we had bad blood about it because of the disagreement, but both of us had different thoughts in our heads.
The result was satisfactory, as both of us discussed, like adults, what was bothering us. The issue was very different in both of our heads, and the only solution was to discuss it.
To conclude, it is important to discuss certain topics before reaching a conclusion in matters where a conversation can solve many problems. Rather than complaining about things and discussing them with other people, it is advised to solve the matter with the concerned person.

Complaining is a human habit. Usually, people are unaware that they are complaining about things and involuntarily do that. It is important to know when to stop complaining, as, in the end, complaining about a particular situation does not change anything. I was in a similar situation that I will discuss with you today.
I was complaining about a purchase I made offline from a trusted shop renowned for their products.
I complained about the defective product in customer service at the respected outlet where I purchased.
It happened during the Diwali festival. I was very excited to wear the footwear that I had been thinking of purchasing for a long time.
The result was that I had to go through a tedious time at the outlet, which disappointed me as a customer.
I was partially satisfied with the result, as they replaced the defective footwear, but the new product was not my first choice, and I had to adjust with the end product.
To conclude, I was unsatisfied with customer care and had to endure the pain of changing such an expensive purchase.

Question- When do people usually complain?
Answer- When people are uncomfortable, they typically complain about it. The second most common cause of complaints is when someone has conned or stolen from them. Many people also have a habit of complaining about things without really having a reasonable justification.
Question- Can complaining help solve problems?
Answer- Indeed, there are several situations in which complaining aids in issue-solving. For example, contacting customer support or service when a product, appliance, or device malfunctions or ceases to operate can help resolve the issue. People are frequently tricked or defrauded; if they report this to the authorities, they have a good chance of receiving justice.
Question- What other measures should you take to solve problems rather than complain?
Answer- There are situations when whining is not the best course of action. For example, people's disregard for traffic laws is the root cause of many cities' traffic issues. However, voicing complaints will worsen things; instead, each person may take initiative and action to address these problems.
Question- What kind of people complain?
Answer- People who are aware of their rights and entitlements protest when they don't get what they deserve or have been promised. On the other hand, some people could complain without a good or convincing cause. These folks typically don't want to accept accountability for their acts and are oblivious.
Question- Do you think customers’ complaints will improve products or services?
Answer- Indeed, without a doubt. These days, every business is aware that the consumer is king. They pay attention to complaints and work to make improvements. They can only keep their clients if they make improvements.
Question- Is it necessary for companies to set up customer service?
Answer- Absolutely, businesses must establish customer service. Customers must be listened to by them. Feedback, both favourable and negative, is critical for every business.
