Describe a natural talent you want to improve cue card - Sample answer 1

Introduction

I believe that everyone has talent from birth, but the key to success is to identify that talent and combine it with tenacity and hard work.

What is it?

By the grace of God, I am a gifted individual with many talents. I can play various musical instruments, write poetry/ lyrics, and sing quietly and melodiously. I would really like to develop my guitar talent, even though I haven't received any professional coaching for either of them until now.

When did you discover it?

My fascination with playing the guitar began when my mother mentioned that I needed to learn at least one musical instrument when I was a child. After that, I participated in several musical competitions as I started school. Furthermore, I was accepted into one of the prestigious colleges only because of this talent I used to perform in youth festivals.

How you want to improve it?

After graduating from college, I became so focused on my profession that I never had time to hone my skills. However, I genuinely enjoy playing guitar and want to improve my performance. Honestly, I don't have enough time to work with a professional trainer, but I would much rather buy an advanced-level guitar or harmonica to carry on with my practice sessions.

And how you feel about it?

I really feel proud and happy at the same time whenever someone praises me for giving a good performance. Playing guitar boosts my skills and provides me peace and satisfaction whenever I feel low.

Conclusion

This is a skill that I would really like to develop.

Describe a natural talent you want to improve cue card - Sample answer 2

Introduction

The belief that certain skills are natural is undeniable. It is good to recognise and nurture these abilities in order to put our lives on a remarkable trajectory of growth.

What is it?

God has given me a gift, just like he has given everyone else. I have been fortunate enough to receive singing as an inborn skill.

When did you discover it?

Since my childhood, singing has piqued my intense attention. When I was around 4 years old, I remember that I used to listen to music every time while having food and used to try singing. Furthermore, I still clearly recall my fourth-grade experience when I was given the chance to perform a song on the school's foundation day. That time, I had won the prize, and the entire school applauded me heartily. I became self-assured and began to take my singing seriously after that day.

How you want to improve it?

Despite the fact that I have significantly increased my singing ability via perseverance, focus, and dedication, I still have a lot to learn. I need to work under an experienced music teacher's supervision to develop my abilities further. I intend to do this by enrolling in music classes with a well-known musician in our city. He has helped many singers become more proficient vocalists. So, with his advice, I'm going to improve the quality of my signing.

And how you feel about it?

There would be a paradigm shift in my singing if I could improve my voice. I'll receive a lot of job offers once I work on my high notes when singing because, as of now, I need help hitting high notes.

Conclusion

Lastly, I would want to suggest that everyone should be inspired to pursue their inherent abilities and learn how to master them from qualified professionals.

Describe a natural talent you want to improve cue card - Sample answer 3

Introduction

It is true that having a skill increases our awareness of our own interests and that one can become an expert by learning to recognise and hone them.

What is it?

I'm an artistic person who enjoys performing. I've always found it entertaining, and watching films has helped me become a better actor. I realised that acting was a natural gift for me in this way. I do not deliberately try to imitate an actor; it automatically comes out of me.

When did you discover it?

During my time in school, I took part in various street plays and mimic shows. Honestly, I have always enjoyed it and won various prizes. Furthermore, during some school events wherein I performed and won a prize, one of my teachers observed that I was very good at it. So, she suggested I take some professional training under the guidance of professionals so I can pursue the acting profession.

How you want to improve it?

My parents have always been encouraging, and they decided to enrol me in acting classes when they realised how much I loved this profession and how much it helped me realise my dream of becoming a professional actor.

And how you feel about it?

I'm thrilled to be studying acting techniques. Priyanka Chopra is someone I really admire. I've always found her to be an inspiration and role model, and drawn to her films.  Working with her and getting to know her is my dream. Since this is the one field in which I have complete interest, I will be overjoyed if I can realise my lifetime dream.

Conclusion

I'm prepared to work really hard to hone my acting skills. One day, I hope to make this a reality. Thus, this is the ability I wish to fully commit to honing.

IELTS Speaking Part 3 - Follow-up Questions

Question: Do you think artists with talents should focus on their talents?

Answer: You need to refine any talent or skill you may possess. Because experts make the greatest money in this modern day, one should concentrate on their abilities rather than trying to perform a variety of things. You give your all and enter a state of flow when working in your gifted sector. The clearest explanation of this can be found in the Japanese book "Ikigai."This book says that we don't feel like our work is a burden when we are doing what we are skilled at. Put differently, we find pleasure in our work and find that time flies. On the other hand, we encounter many difficulties when we attempt an activity that is outside of our areas of strength.

Question: Is it possible for us to know if the children who are 3 or 4 years old will become musicians or painters when they grow up?

Answer: Since children are not yet able to understand others precisely, it is impossible to predict at this age what kind of person they will grow up to be, a painter or musician, for example, because they are too young to know what field they want to specialise in as they grow older and have a wide range of interests. At this point, it is impossible to tell if they will grow up to be musicians or painters. They don't understand anything at this age, so we can't force them to tell me what they want to be when they grow up because they don't have any information at this point. Once they reach enough age to discover their own desires, they can decide and proceed to work on that task.

Question: Do you think parents feel guilty for putting too much pressure on their children?

Answer: I think parents feel less bad because they are unaware of the amount of pressure they put on their children. One of the reasons is that, in certain situations, they believe they are preparing their children for maturity and real-world issues. To be able to provide the kids with the help they need, they should pay attention to how the youngsters are responding and coping.

Question: Why do people like to watch talent shows?

Answer: The fact that talent shows are entertaining and grounded in reality is the main reason why viewers enjoy them. People prefer to use their free time to amuse themselves with these kinds of TV shows to distract themselves from their stressful lives. In addition, a lot of people have special talents, so they can showcase them on these reality shows and get notoriety by taking part.

Question: Do you think watching famous or ordinary people’s shows is more interesting?

Answer: I'm not sure how to answer this question because the two categories impart distinct knowledge. Learning about the hardships, perseverance, and path to success that well-known people have taken is incredibly inspiring. Still, well-known people are occasionally conceited, and the public never gets to see them for who they really are. However, everyday people present us with the true face of mankind, one to which everybody may connect on various levels, whether through shared experiences or a realistic understanding of daily life. Because so many individuals can identify with this, they find the everyday people quite fascinating.

Question: Do parents support their children in pursuing acting as a career?

Answer: Due to globalisation and technological advancements, parents today want their children to major in science and pursue careers in it in order to provide them with a better and more secure future.

Question: Why do people think a career in acting is not worth it?

Answer: As previously stated, this industry is full of challenges unless you receive a better break, and there is no guarantee of a future. For this reason, in order to survive and meet their fundamental needs, people need to have a backup profession alternative.
